History
Community Outreach was founded in the fall of
1996 by a a group of women who, feeling grateful for their lives in
SaddleBrooke, wanted to reach out into neighboring communities and help
those less fortunate.
Initially, services were directed toward
the three Pinal County towns of Oracle, San Manuel, and Mammoth, also known
as the Tri-Communities.
These towns receive very little government or private assistance and have
high level of poverty.
In April 1997, Community Outreach was
incorporated, and on August 19, 1997, the IRS recognized it as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
At that time, the membership was opened to both men and women.
Community Outreach is
run
entirely by volunteer members living in the SaddleBrooke Adult Living
Community. We are
dedicated to working with poor families, with special emphasis on the
children. We have no paid staff and no overhead. All administrative costs
are paid from
dues, recycling programs, and returns on investments. All grants received from
foundations and corporations are used 100 percent for our programs, with no
deductions of any kind. |
